The Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans have the best odds to win the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, according to updated projections from the ESPN Football Power Index (FPI). The 2-7 Panthers -- and the sixth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft -- have a 26.3 percent chance of earning the No. 1 pick after a 42-21 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. . Next in our draft order projections are the 1-6-1 Texans, who are coming off their third straight loss of the season following a 29-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night. But, Houston actually has a higher probability of eventually taking the first pick (30.3 percent), even though the mathematical model gives it a lower probability than Carolina to pick from the Top-5 and Top-10 of the order. 

Six trades involving first-round picks for next April's draft have already been agreed, with the Detroit Lions, Texans, Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles expected to make two first-round picks. The Miami Dolphins were stripped of their own pick for violations of the league's policies regarding the integrity of the game. That means there will be just 31 first-round picks in 2023. Slot Gacor

Every week during the campaign, the FPI projects the draft order by simulating the remainder of the season 10,000 times. The match odds are mostly based on the model indices for individual teams, as well as match venues. The order is based on the records the model believes the teams will have after 17 games, and the order is based on the average draft position for each team in those simulations. AFC/NFC seeding is not taken into account for now; it's just a projection around the draft position.
