Carmen Jorda returns

Carmen Jordá returns to the wheel of a single-seater and will be present this weekend at the Paul Ricard circuit, which will host the last round of the 2022 season of the Ultimate Cup Series. Jordá will get behind the wheel of a single-seater Tatuus F3R of the CMR team, where he competes for another year with Nicolas Prost as teammate.

The Valencian rider is well versed in the Ultimate Cup Series, given that in 2021 she also took part in various rounds of the calendar, at circuits such as Magny-Cours and Estoril. Just like then, Jordá will race alongside the CMR team, which currently leads the drivers' championship with Prost.

The Ultimate Cup Series weekend begins on Friday with three 25-minute free practice sessions and a 20-minute qualifying session and ends on Saturday with three 25-minute races.

The qualifying times define the starting order of the first two races: the grid for the first round is formulated with the best time of each driver and that of the second with the second best time. For the third, the results of the two previous races are combined.

The Ultimate Cup Series is a European championship backed by the tire manufacturer Michelin that combines sprint and endurance racing of single-seaters and Gran Turismo cars.

The category serves as a platform for drivers and teams that want to compete in the biggest competitions on the continent.

"This Ultimate Cup Series race at Paul Ricard makes me especially excited. CMR has supported me since 2021 and we work very well together. They are always willing to help me in any way possible and I feel supported by them. My teammate Nicolas Prost can return to be proclaimed champion, so I hope the weekend ends well for everyone. I'm also happy that this last event of the year is at the Le Castellet circuit. It's a place I really like: I've only raced once there, but it has a special charm. This would not be possible without the continued support of my sponsors, such as INTERprotección, who have accompanied me throughout my sports career", says the Valencian pilot.

Carmen began her career in single-seaters in 2005 and became a development driver for Lotus and Renault in Formula 1 during the 2015 and 2016 seasons, thus becoming the eleventh woman in history to be part of the driver's roster of a premier class team. Since then, Jordá has worked closely with the FIA as part of the Women's Motorsport Commission and has also been Official Development Driver of the De Tomaso P72 supercar.
