Guevara, Mister Spain 2022

The Moto3 champion wins all four races in our country, as Lorenzo or Márquez did, before jumping to Moto2

No one doubts that Izan Guevara is a 'crack' that, almost certainly, will be even more so in the coming years. The Spaniard prevailed in the Valencia race, to say goodbye to the year, fulfilling the objective that he had set for himself: to achieve victory in the four events in Spain. Only Jorge Lorenzo had obtained it in 2015 and Marc Márquez, in 2019. Both were champions that year in MotoGP, as the one in Palma has been this campaign in Moto3.

Aspar's pupil, furthermore, did so being true to himself, in the style with which he has built his crown and with which he has shaped a driving style that threatens to be infallible in the highest displacements: with a devilish cornering, shooting wildly from the start and not worrying about the others at any time. Nothing to wait for slipstreams or dose yourself for the final laps, like others who won like this.

But Izan has other bits of talent, like controlling even the seemingly unruly, like an attack from the ever-aggressive Deniz Öncü. Guevara led from his great start until the Turk attacked him and passed at turn 8, Bernat Martínez's. The Balearic knew that the offensive would arrive and even knew how to take advantage of the Ottoman's momentum in the last angle to win the game from the outside.

Like in Jerez. To the champion. "It's the best way to end the season, I had a very good feeling with the bike", he released. Sergio García Dols, his teammate, worked for the runner-up position, with third place on the podium, and said goodbye to his pit neighbor with a big hug and mutual recognition that their fight has made them stronger. The faces will be seen in Moto2 in 2023.
