And at game 42 Andoni Zubiaurre made his debut
The goalkeeper from Ordizia was finally able to fulfill his dream in the Cup against CD Cazalegas
Andoni Zubiaurre played his first official match with Real Sociedad against CD Cazalegas on Sunday, almost five years after entering the first of the 41 squads in which he has been, without actually having minutes. The Ordizia goalkeeper, who will turn 26 in a few days, achieved one of his wishes when he renewed his contract in the summer until 2024 and did not go to another club.
Zubiaurre arrived at Zubieta very young and took the penultimate step to the elite when in the 2016-17 season he appeared in a subsidiary of which he was the starting goalkeeper for the following two seasons, beginning to be cited by the first team, on whose bench he was in seven times.
The youth squad player was Real's third goalkeeper in 2019-20, adding another dozen calls, but still unable to achieve a debut that was close to seeing how he escaped when he was loaned to Cultural Leonesa, in 2020-21, and when last season he started as a substitute for Sanse and the end of his contract on June 30.
From being outside the Real to renewing and debuting
His excellent performances under the command of Xabi Alonso, when the Tolosa native changed goalkeepers in the second part of the season, caused him to have offers, which once again kept him away from his debut, although the renewal offer from Real, first, and the Mathew Ryan's departure, then it was put back within his reach.
Zubiaurre knew that he was going to be a clear substitute for Álex Remiro, as he has been during the first 20 games of the course, until on Sunday in the Imanol Cup he decided to include him in the eleven against Cazalegas, in Talavera de la Reina, a rival and a place that will always be special for the Ordizia goalkeeper, for being part of his first official match with the txuriurdin first team.
