McGregor is interested in buying Liverpool and gets scalded
The fans remind him that he is a United fan and he even flirted with the idea of buying it
Conor McGregor has expressed interest in buying Liverpool, after it was leaked this week that the English soccer club's owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), wants to sell it.
"I would love to!" Wrote the Dubliner on his Twitter account, and in capital letters. Of course, quickly a multitude of fans have jumped on him, and it is that last March he came to say that he was interested in making an offer to buy Manchester United. He has also been interested in Chelsea or Celtic in Glasgow, a Scottish club with Irish roots.
McGregor assures in his tweet that "as soon as" he heard the news of the sale of Liverpool he asked for "information about it". "What a turn of events! What a club!" expressed the mixed martial arts superstar.
McGregor has confessed that he supported United as a child, although his sympathies turned towards Liverpool, as he acknowledged in the Champions League final that the 'reds' played against Real Madrid in 2022. However, he has been showered with many critical comments reminding him that a self-confessed United fan cannot buy the 'Pool'.
"Have no doubt that in the future I am contemplating the purchase of a football franchise," warned the Irishman. The British media 'The Athletic' revealed on Monday that FSG has shown interest in new partners taking control of Liverpool, a club it has owned since 2010.
In response to this information, FSG, which runs the MLB's Boston Red Sox and different media outlets, noted that, "on several occasions," it has already indicated that, "under appropriate terms and conditions, we would consider new partners if that It was in the best interest of Liverpool as a club".
